Our methodology for ranking sites is simple. We rank sites based on the 3-month trend line Alexa traffic rankings for each site. This ranking is a three month trend ranking that takes into account both reach (the number of users per million) and page views (overall number of pages accessed).

We currently review over 100 of the largest sites on an ongoing basis.

We reserve the right to exclude any site that has, in our opinion, attempted to artificially inflate the Alexa rating, which can most often be seen by an extreme increase in traffic in a short period of time, unrelated to any actual traffic increase at the site during the same time period.

In addition, we reserve the right to exclude sites which are primarily membership-based and charge users for access.

We also reserve the right to exclude any site which is a sub-site of a larger site, since the larger site often can have links directly to the sub-site from their home page, artificially skewing the overall Alexa results.
